Polar bears are the largest land carnivores in the world, with males weighing up to 800kg. Thatâs almost as much as a small car!
A polar bearâs fur is transparent but it reflects the sun around them, making it appear white! How clever!
In 2006, scientists discovered a polar bear-grizzly bear hybrid, also known as the âgrolar bearâ or âpizzly bearâ!
Because polar bears spend so much time in the ocean, their scientific name, Ursus maritimus, translates to âsea bearâ
